There was a crow who was flying from places to places in search of water as she was very thirsty. She was looking for water everywhere but could not find anywhere.

She flew over the trees, fields and houses but couldn’t find some. Gradually turning hopeless she flew in the high sky but keeping an eye on the ground in search of some water.

So, eventually she flew into a village where in a farm under a tree she found some water in a pitcher.

The thirsty crow became happy and thought “Now I would be able to drink some water and satisfy my thirst.” Soon flew down and sat on the edge of the pitcher and realized that she was not getting water.

So, she peeped into the pitcher to drink some. But soon she realized that the water level was too low and because of the narrow neck of the pitcher she couldn’t glide her neck into the pitcher. And this made her very sad.

Then she really got worried and started to look here and there in search of water. As she was very thirsty and she couldn’t bear the scorching sun rays, she became restless.

She also tried to move the pitcher so the water could flow down, and she could drink some. But as it was too heavy to move, she failed to move it.

She looked around and thought “What can I do to drink this water?” Curios crow was getting more restless but refusing to give up she looked for ways to get the water.

Then she found some pebbles nearby. She picked up those pebbles one by one with her beak and started to put into the pitcher.

So, she started to collect more and more pebbles and started to fill the pitcher. And when the pebbles were enough to fill the base of the pitcher, the water level started to come up and touched the brim.

The happy crow drank water from the pitcher and with utmost containment she flew away home satisfactorily.

Can you think- “Had she given up on drinking water from the pitcher, what would have happened?” “Could she ever get the water to drink?” “would giving up and not trying to achieve her goal get her water to drink?”
